Ole, and his Boss
Once upon a time, there lived a young man called; Ole,in a local village called,Asaba- Ase in Delta State here in Nigeria.
Ole was privileged enough to be picked up by an average old man, called Omulu.
Omulu is a man of hospitality, kindness, dignity and honesty. He is the community maritime chairman and fuel vendor. Omulu had sympathy for Ole, took him to be his fuel sales boy,as if that’s not enough;he accommodated him in his own house. Mr Ole was treated like a child of Omulu by his family. Anything prepared in the house is what they dishes for him.
Omulu,Ole’s boss entrusted the fuel business to him. But aside from this trust, Ole was playing some hanky’s panky games with his boss money. He taught,he was very smart. He doesn’t understand that a boss remains a boss.
Despite his nonchalant and stealing stunts,he always pulls, Omulu;his boss, kept him silent as if nothing was happening. Sometimes Ole’s boss will audit him and finds out money was missing in every daily sales, Ole will stand a chance to give his boss a cock and bull story; lying that no money was missing. And his boss endured his bad attitude and was patient enough until the day Ole insulted his boss wife;by gossiping her around the locality. With hearing such news about Ole’s gossip, and insult to his wife;Mr Omulu, Ole’s boss was struck to anger. So one unfortunate evening for Ole,his boss called him at the dinner table; and what he heard his boss telling him, shocked him, and made him broke into tears. His boss said; Ole, from today onward, you no longer be my sales boy and you will no longer live with me in my house;so pack your luggages and leave my house. Ole broke into tears profusely and uncontrollably, but his tears couldn’t change his boss decision to his dismissal.
Lessons we ought to learn from this story:
1. Never outshine your master(boss).
2. Never take your boss simplicity for foolishness.
3. Respect and be loyal enough to your bosses.
4. Jettison pride.
5. Never steals from your boss and anyone else.
6. Never disregards your bosses wife and folks.
7. Finally;never give up on your failures.
